Aluminum Transport Boxes

Aluminum explosives transport boxes for explosives allow for the transportation of explosives and detonators from a fixed depot to the construction site. This type of box is highly configurable with over 50 standard models available. It must be securely anchored to the vehicle, and straps are not allowed.

Nomenclature: CTA 72"x93"x48" 4C5E: this is an aluminum transport box 72" wide (high section) by 93" long by 48" high with 4 compartments and 5 entries.

Protexplo primarily offers three configurations depending on the vehicle:

​

Light truck (pick-up): the best-selling transportation box fits perfectly into your truck bed. It can be configured with or without a tool chest and can be widened over the fenders (T-shape).

Flatbed truck: Independent transportation box that can be installed on a truck's flatbed. It cannot be installed on the flatbed of a trailer. However, it is possible to transport detonators in a chest under a trailer's flatbed, see CDCTA photos.

Chassis cab truck: Custom-made transportation box built on the chassis of a truck. It provides ample space and high capacity. It comes equipped with a steel bumper and step.

Capacity: the smaller number between (1) 1999 kg and (2) the payload of the truck as determined by the manufacturer minus the weight of the chest, equipment, fuel, and passengers.

​

It is crucial not to exceed the specified payload capacity to ensure safety, avoid premature vehicle wear, and comply with legal regulations. Exceeding the payload capacity can affect vehicle handling, increase braking distance, and expose the driver to risks of accidents or fines during road inspections. Protexplo recommends limiting the capacity to 80% x (the payload of the truck minus the weight of the transportation chest).
